KGWO is a community-based orchestra of around 50 musicians. Our ages, professions, and cultural backgrounds vary, but what unites us is a joy of rehearsing and performing a wide range of music for the people of Brisbane and our city’s many visitors. Each of our concerts presents a selection of works based around a theme.
The KGWO sound - brass, woodwind and percussion - is ideal for a variety of musical styles. We perform serious symphonic repertoire, light classical works, contemporary works, and popular pieces. Our goal is to present enjoyable, memorable concerts where the quality of performance, the breadth of music, and the affordability keeps audiences coming back.
